The Department was established during 1992. The department offering three combinations, i.e. Mathematics with Statistics and Computer Science, Mathematics with Physics and Electronics in English Medium and Mathematics with Physics and Chemistry in Telugu Medium. The Department started P.G. course i.e. M.Sc., Mathematics during the year 1995. The department started U.G.Course i.e, B.Sc.Mathematics (Honours) During the year 2017-18.

The Department is taking care to train the students in latest trends in the subjects. Reading material on numerical ability, quantitative techniques and arithmetics are made available to the students by the department for preparing for different examinations conducted by various nationalized banks. Modern Teaching methods and use of ICT in Teaching learning is being given much importance. Practice oriented assignments given by the department help the students to acquire practical knowledge. The faculty members identify the strength and weaknesses of each student , which will help the students to set long term career goals and short term learning objectives and to enable them to perform effectively. The Department is in constant touch with faculty of Department of Mathematics of the parent University for guidance. Slow learners are monitored to arrive at important strategies. Feed back is being obtained from the students to enhance the quality of teaching. Guest lecturers are arranged to equip the students with latest knowledge.
